James Johnson is a financial advisor and our CEO at TCI Financial. Now securities licensed in Florida and California, James started working in the financial services industry with his wife, Jennifer, over a decade ago. Initially entering the business to assist Jennifer and take some work off her plate, he quickly found that he had a passion for helping others. He also noticed a growing need in the financial advisory sector, as most friends, family and clients he worked with were unsure of how to reach retirement with sufficient income streams.
Now, on a day-to-day basis, James enjoys meeting with clients both virtually and in-person. Immediately, he likes to understand each client’s goals in relation to where they currently are. Always analytical and business-oriented, he then assembles a road map to help clients reach retirement safely. “We’re modern in that we use all of our options to help every client, but we’re still old fashioned in the sense that we love to work with our clients, personally and professionally,” James says. “At the end of the day, the most important thing is that the person sitting across from me feels comfortable and confident with their plan and situation.”
Growing up while his father was in the Army, James is originally from Nuremberg, Germany. Though his family was constantly on the move early in his life, they finally settled in the New England area, where James lived until his early-20s. Often seeking new opportunities, he first moved to Florida with a friend to work on houses and eventually climbed the ranks in a custom cabinetry firm. He eventually went on to meet the love of his life and achieve his bachelor’s degree in business administration, following his entrepreneurship dreams.
